Dr. Raafia Memon is a board-certified endocrinologist and Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP) dedicated to providing thoughtful, evidence-based care for patients with endocrine and metabolic disorders.
She has particular interests in diabetes management, thyroid disease, medical weight management, osteoporosis, and women’s hormonal health, including perimenopause, menopause, and menopause hormone therapy (MHT). Her goal is to help patients better understand their health while developing personalized treatment plans that reflect the latest medical evidence and each patient’s unique goals.
Dr. Memon completed her fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism at the University of Maryland Medical Center, where she was honored as Best Endocrine Scholar and received the prestigious Fellow Teacher of the Year Award during both years of fellowship.
Prior to fellowship, she completed her Internal Medicine residency at St. Luke’s University Hospital in Pennsylvania, serving as Chief Resident during her final year. She graduated at the top of her medical school class, earning Gold Medals in Medicine, Surgery, and Ophthalmology in recognition of her academic excellence.
Clinical Experience & Academic Leadership
Prior to founding Delaware Direct Endocrinology, Dr. Memon practiced endocrinology at ChristianaCare, caring for patients with a broad spectrum of endocrine conditions, including diabetes, thyroid disorders, obesity, medical weight management, osteoporosis, menopause, pituitary disorders, adrenal disorders, metabolic bone disease, and reproductive endocrine disorders.
In recognition of her commitment to medical education, Dr. Memon was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at both Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM). She has also served as a peer reviewer for medical journals and remains committed to advancing evidence-based endocrine care through continued education and scholarship.
A Different Approach to Endocrine Care
Dr. Memon’s path to endocrinology is deeply personal.
After losing her father to a silent heart attack related to diabetes and watching family members navigate the challenges of endocrine disorders, she became committed to helping patients prevent complications through education, early intervention, and individualized treatment.
That commitment ultimately inspired her to establish Delaware Direct Endocrinology.
She believes exceptional medical care requires time – time to listen carefully, answer questions thoroughly, explain complex medical conditions, and develop individualized treatment plans. Rather than practicing in a traditional high-volume model, Dr. Memon intentionally limits the number of patients she sees so every visit is unhurried, collaborative, and centered on the patient’s needs.

Dr. Memon is a board certified endocrinologist. She has been a Delaware resident since 2019 and lives in Middletown with her family.
After completing high school in Orange County California she moved to Pakistan to live with her dad who was then the dean of a dental school and founding dean of two other dental colleges in Pakistan. She attended medical school at Isra University, Pakistan and graduated top of her class in medical school with gold medals in Medicine & Allied Medical Sciences, General Surgery and Ophthalmology. Upon returning to the US, she pursued clinical rotations in Baltimore, MD where she worked closely with patients suffering from diabetic neuropathy. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at St. Luke’s University Hospital, PA where she also served as a chief resident in her third year of residency. She subsequently completed her fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism at University of Maryland Medical Center Baltimore, MD where she was awarded the fellow teacher of the award both years and the “Best Endocrine Scholar” award.
She worked at Christiana Care for almost 5 years until July 2024 and was named in Delaware Top Doctors in 2020 and 2022. During her time at Christiana Care she served on the Ambulatory Patient Safety and Bone Health Committees. She finds teaching medical students and residents extremely rewarding and was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at PCOM and Sidney Kimmel Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University. Dr. Memon volunteers as a clinical reviewer for medical journals and has won several awards for clinical research.
